Last updated: March 2026

At Balkan Music Academy, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. We believe in transparency and minimal data collection—we only gather what's necessary to respond to your inquiries and booking requests.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it through our survey form:

  • Survey Form: Full name, email address, phone number (optional), current music level, instrument interest, 90-day goal, biggest obstacle, preferred learning experience, and additional notes
  • Consent: Your explicit agreement to our Privacy Policy before submitting
  • UTM Parameters: We may capture marketing attribution data (source, medium, campaign) from the URL to understand how you found us
  • No Tracking: We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising purposes

2. How We Use Your Information

The information you provide is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Responding to your inquiries and questions submitted through the contact form
  • Coordinating recording studio session bookings and project details
  • Communicating with you about your requests via email or phone

3. Data Storage and Retention

Your privacy is important to us. When you submit a form, your information is sent directly to our email inbox via a secure SMTP connection (TLS encryption). We do not store your data in any database on our servers. Your information exists only in the emails we receive, which we retain as long as necessary to fulfill your request and maintain our business correspondence records. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

4. Third-Party Services

To provide our services, we use the following third-party providers:

  • Brevo (formerly Sendinblue): We use Brevo as our email marketing and contact management platform. When you submit the survey, your contact information (name, email, phone) and survey responses are synced to Brevo to manage communications and send you relevant updates. Brevo processes your data in accordance with their privacy policy. You can learn more at brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.
  • Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts to display web typography. Google may collect usage data when fonts are loaded. See Google's Privacy Policy for more information.
  • Image Hosting Services: We load images from Unsplash and Pexels. These services may collect data when images are accessed. Please review their respective privacy policies.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking technologies. Your browsing behavior on our website is not monitored or recorded. The only automatic data we collect is your browser's language preference to provide a localized experience.

6. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You can request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Right to Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object: You can object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing or other purposes.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. Form submissions are transmitted using TLS/SSL encryption (HTTPS), and our SMTP email service uses secure port 465 with TLS encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Our website serves visitors from around the world, including the European Union, Romania, and Serbia. When you submit a form, your data is transmitted via email, which may involve servers located in different countries. We use secure transmission protocols (TLS/SSL) to protect your data in transit.
